Her grandfather, an ancestral healer, treated her navel with Piriri and medicinal chants, planting the seeds of artistic talent in her hands.
At three years old, plant essences were applied to Isabel’s eyes, opening a gateway to the intricate geometries of Kené through dreams.
AMAABJ arose to safeguard ancestral art and secure a lifeline for the women who create it. Seventeen women work together in solidarity, preserving knowledge while building independence for their families.
